Primary Health Care Operations Research Project (PRICOR) I and II
CHS undertook research in several developing countries to guide them in strengthening their primary health care services. We pioneered the development of a practical, systematic approach to operations research on critical issues facing primary health care services. Specifically, the project investigated, in partnership with health care providers and their managers, the use of community health workers, community mobilization, community financing of primary health services and community-based commodity distribution. Upon PRICOR’s closure, its work continued under the Quality Assurance Project.
