Chinese and Arabic language instructors will have an opportunity to further their professional growth through a new grant awarded to the Center for Human Services (CHS) and McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
“CHS/McDaniel Summer STARTALK Institute on Arabic and Chinese Language Instruction,” funded by the National Security Agency’s STARTALK program, offers a four-week, 90-hour program in which student earn three graduate credits upon completion. Mandarin and Arabic language instructors, prospective language teachers highly proficient in Arabic or Mandarin, and guest teachers from China are eligible for enrollment.
The Summer Institute supports STARTALK’s mission to increase the numbers of highly qualified K-12 teachers of Arabic and Mandarin.
