The Excelencia en la Educación Project supports efforts developed by Mexico and the United States to help raise the educational levels of the population of Mexican-origin living in the U.S.
The project was awarded to the CHS to conduct a General Education Development (GED) program in 2006 and 2007. Under the program, CHS offers educational services to Mexican immigrants living in the U.S. to learn English as a Second Language, earn the General Education Diploma in English or its equivalent in Mexico, “el Diploma de Secundaria” and to help them to access higher education.

- Provide educational services to Mexican citizens who are living in the United States and are 15 years of age or older
- Administer funds to cover stipends of educational advisors (mentors, facilitators, or promoters) and/or coordinators of adult education programs that serve immigrant students of Mexican citizenship in New Jersey.
